With diverse services spanning IT strategy and architecture, IT Operations, Cloud Transformation, IT(Cloud) Economics & FinOps and Security, Risk and Compliance, we help executives to deliver value and enable the businesses they work in with technology.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Customer Focused Principal Cloud Architect (Azure/AWS) with experience in delivering complex cloud architectures and cloud strategies across a variety of industries.

You will provide strategic guidance and long-term vision, encompassing strategic planning and alignment with business goals whilst working closely with our clients to solve complex cloud optimization & migration challenges. As part of your role, you are expected to be Hands-On, will be able to design and deliver practical cloud architectures and strategies which are fit for purpose, assessing the environment and constraints whilst showing a desire to challenge conventional thinking.

You will contribute to the broader architecture community through speaking engagements, publications, or participation in industry events.

Requirements

The Role

• Being a trusted advisor, guiding our clients towards a successful solution to their Cloud challenges.
• Taking part in early engagement to help identify & convert compelling vision for our client’s cloud optimization and migration journeys.
• Guiding and de-risking the delivery of Cloud programmes and projects, promoting working iteratively to incrementally add value. Mediating, resolving conflicts and escalating when necessary.
• Supporting cross-functional teams delivering and prototyping Cloud platforms, services and products in multi-cloud, hybrid and private cloud environments.
• Helping stakeholders define both functional and non-functional requirements and ensuring solutions meet these requirements for performance, capacity, scalability, availability, security, manageability, and sustainability.
• Aligning work across the client’s organization and their cloud strategy, taking a key role in choosing appropriate Cloud technologies, preparing performance and cost estimates for modelling scenarios.
• Providing expertise on privacy and information security topics ensuring our clients’ regulatory compliance.
• Providing expertise on Architecture, Well-Architected Framework, Landing Zone Design, DevOps Pipelines, and Kubernetes Service.
• Building capability in the architecture community and collaborating with other roles including Architects (Enterprise, Cloud, Security, Solution & Data), Cloud Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Mobile Engineers, Data Engineers, Data Analysts and Data Scientists (i.e., providing guidance, support, coaching and knowledge-sharing opportunities through internal forums and talks)
• Keeping yourself technically sharp, being open to learning new and emerging Azure technologies, approaches, and paradigms such as Generative AI, Foundation Models, Mainframe Transformation and Quantum Computing. § Leading Cloud Architect, Cloud Engineer, and DevOps Engineers within your teams
• Working collaboratively with clients mostly at Onsite & with other colleagues in hybrid mode.
• Travelling to various IC locations, e.g., in mainland Europe, for project work or for developing competencies across the region.

About You

You will have strong career progression to date, and experience working with recognized consulting brands and large commercial sector clients.

What we look in you

• Expertise in Operations in Cloud and hybrid environments.
• Expertise in Security in Cloud and hybrid environments.
• Expertise in Networking in Cloud and hybrid environments (especially firewalling, routing & DNS)
• Expertise of DevOps & Cloud automation using Infrastructure as Code (especially Terraform)
• Expertise of containerized solutions (especially Kubernetes)
• Expertise of micro services architecture
• Expertise of shell/bash scripting
• Expertise of operational tooling for logging, monitoring & backup
• Expertise of VMWare
• Knowledge of Database technologies like PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQL Server
• Knowledge of specific tools like Terraform Cloud, Gitlab CI, Cloud Build.
• Knowledge of LDAP & Active Directory
• Knowledge of interoperability technology (e.g., message-oriented middleware, Event Hubs or similar)
• Languages: Fluent in English. Working Knowledge of Dutch will be preferred.

Good to have

• Relevant & valid certifications in Cloud
• Good knowledge of Cloud Optimizations & Rationalization
• Experience/Knowledge of Cloud Economics- FinOps
• Cloud business case and financial management
• Architecture of hybrid cloud solutions
