Java Software Engineer Full Time

We are looking for Java Software Engineers to help us build new functionality and add improvements to our software. If you have an eye for writing code and are interested in solving complex puzzles, we want you to join one of our teams!

Key about your role

As a Java software engineer you are responsible for building new features, bug fixing, and improving existing functionality in Axon. Axon is our standard SaaS platform supporting all core insurance processes. You will collaborate closely with design engineers and test engineers, actively participating in refinement, sprint planning, and demoing your work during sprint reviews.

“For me, the fun of development is in figuring out how the existing code works and how we can best adapt it to meet the customer’s (new) wishes” says Jeroen, developer in the Contracts cluster.  “The nice thing for me as a Java developer within a product development team is that the work is not just writing code. You help think about the implementation of the customer’s requirements. Together with the team, you make a plan on how you will test new functionality and which automated tests you want to build for it.”

Key about your team

Your team is a modern scrum team within the Product Development department and develops one or more modules in our non-life insurance product Axon. It is the responsibility of your team to deliver a high-value, high-quality product that really fits the needs of our customers. By creating and maintaining state-of-the-art software which models the insurers’ business, your team provides the best solution that supports insurance processes. As part of a SaaS and customer intimate company, we strive to constantly improve on both quality and reliability as this of vital importance in our service to our customers.

Key about you

• You have experience with large technical ecosystems using Java, IntelliJ, Git, Gradle, Angular, Docker;
• You have experience in working with SQL and databases (DB2, PostgreSQL);
• You are used to creating and performing unit, system and integration tests as part of your development work;
• You understand the agile way of working, tools and techniques;
• You have an eye for writing code with attention for performance, scalability and maintainability;
• It’s a plus if you have experience with or interest in CICD (Teamcity, Bash, Puppet, Ansible, SaltStack, Chef, etc.);
• You are passionate about your code. You love to put your strong analytical skills to the test whilst working closely together with your team.

Keylane offers

• Starting with a monthly gross salary between € 2,800 and € 5,600 (according to your experience) based on 40 hours per week;
• 8% holiday allowance of your total gross salary;
