WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Our newest nanoindentation platform, the Pavone, is a high throughput nanoindentation microscope and we envision new modules to improve the impact for our customers.
To realize the full potential of the Pavone, we are looking for an experienced mechatronics engineer, who has experience in precision mechatronics and motion control, including all of its future modules and features. This candidate will develop features and modules to enhance the performance of Pavone for applications in pharma, biotech, and academia. High-precision motion control to nanometer stability and fiber optic sensing will be key aspects of the development. Working in a highly motivated and talented R&D team, the candidate is a key player in the development of unique world class instruments and is not afraid to set ambitious technical goals. So, what will you do?
KEY ACTIVITIES
- Design and develop new products and modules for Optics11 Life
- Design of complex precision motion and imaging systems
- Potential to grow into a team leader role
- Creating and communicating design tradeoffs to stakeholders
- Choosing sensors and actuators for new applications
- Improve precision control systems used on Optics11 Life systems
- Identify and propose large design changes for improving systems
- Own and maintain the bill of materials of the equipment
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- BSc or MSc in mechatronics, mechanical engineering or adjacent field
- 5+ years of experience with mechatronics design and precision motion control
- Experience in a regulated environment is a bonus
- Knowledge of mechanical design and CAD modeling
- Experience with FMEA and design checkpoints
- Great communication skills
- Passionate and enthusiastic
