To support this SHV Energy is accelerating its digital ambition and a robust, scalable, and effectively IT / Digital infrastructure is both the backbone and key enabler to the strategy.
The Cloud and Infrastructure Architecture is a key, visible role within Cloud Competence Centre and related teams. Working with SHV Energy’s Business Units (BUs) as well as with the Global IT organisation, acting as a subject matter expert and architect for both traditional infrastructure services and cloud-based solutions. This includes creating solution architecture, standards, road mapping and planning, supporting delivery along with identifying opportunities to optimise the current infrastructure delivery and operations, including but not limited to cost optimisation and automation of ongoing operations.
The challenge at SHV Energy is particularly attractive because we are supporting the transformation of a largely decentralised organisation. Global solutions that are being developed and implemented must fit into a local ecosystem in a hybrid architecture (local systems and global systems working in harmony) which is an interesting challenge to navigate and solve a key part of the role is ensuring that the solutions delivered, meet the business needs, and are in line with the defined architecture, security principles, while in line with industry best practice.
