Cloud & Infrastructure Architect Full Time

To support this SHV Energy is accelerating its digital ambition and a robust, scalable, and effectively IT / Digital infrastructure is both the backbone and key enabler to the strategy.

The Cloud and Infrastructure Architecture is a key, visible role within Cloud Competence Centre and related teams. Working with SHV Energy’s Business Units (BUs) as well as with the Global IT organisation, acting as a subject matter expert and architect for both traditional infrastructure services and cloud-based solutions. This includes creating solution architecture, standards, road mapping and planning, supporting delivery along with identifying opportunities to optimise the current infrastructure delivery and operations, including but not limited to cost optimisation and automation of ongoing operations.

The challenge at SHV Energy is particularly attractive because we are supporting the transformation of a largely decentralised organisation. Global solutions that are being developed and implemented must fit into a local ecosystem in a hybrid architecture (local systems and global systems working in harmony) which is an interesting challenge to navigate and solve a key part of the role is ensuring that the solutions delivered, meet the business needs, and are in line with the defined architecture, security principles, while in line with industry best practice.

The key activities and result areas will be as follows:

• Responsible for the architecture governance for Cloud and Infrastructure services including participating in and leading design review, developing and maintaining principles and standards, chairing, and facilitating the Infrastructure Design Authority. Ensuring that the SHVE principles and industry best practice if followed.
• Actively work with business and other Global IT project teams, e.g. Global Website, Customer Analytics, Customer Portals, to support the delivery of digital & IT services required for these projects
• Work to establish a community of peers, across SHV Energy and the wider SHV group of companies to share ideas, opportunities, and learnings.
• Assist in the management of outsourcing and implementation and operations partners.
• With the support of the Cloud Competence Center Leader, Global Director Digital & Business Foundation, and other leads, develop and maintenance a roadmap for Cloud and Infrastructure services, including MS Azure and M365.
• With the support of the Competence Center Leader – Cloud and Infrastructure, and Global Director Digital & Business Foundation, initiate and where appropriate run, projects, and programs, to deliver on the Cloud and Infrastructure Services roadmap.

What we are looking for:

• Hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineer, system engineering or comparable.
• Have at least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Have expert level knowledge of IT infrastructure technology (networking, operating systems, cyber security.
• Experience working in an IT4IT environment and with infrastructure migration projects from on-premises to Azure cloud in strategic technology planning and execution, as well as policy development and maintenance and with outsourced delivery, preferably including offshoring teams in India.
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps and ServiceNow/ITSM-concepts, Azure IaaS, PaaS, Azure AD concepts, Active Directory, MS Exchange, Networking, Cyber Security, MS SQL, MS Windows, and Linux based environments and management of cloud productivity platforms, predominantly M365.
• Awareness of Kanban, Scrum and Prince2 concepts and their application
• Self-motivated, highly flexible and can work effectively in ambiguous environments.
• Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work across business lines at all levels to influence and effect change to achieve common goals and achieving goals through others not directly under their supervision, by working ethically and with integrity.
• Willing to travel internationally approximately 10-20%
• Speaks and writes fluently in English.
• Consulting experience desirable.
