Quality Compliance Engineer Full Time

We are searching for a Quality Compliance Engineer to ensure the quality of our software, and our development processes.

This includes (automated) testing and testing processes, identifying, and mitigating risks, ensuring (audit) quality processes are implemented and followed, and help achieve industry standards like SOC2, HECVAT and VPAT.

Why are we searching for you?

We want to improve the quality of our product and processes and need you to help implement and plan quality control, and quality monitoring. This includes identification and prioritization of (quality) risks to minimize outages, software development bugs, and meeting IT Audit requirements. You need to help us check our compliance monthly and act if needed. We would like to get a better grip on our quality initiatives.

What are your three main goals?

• Initiate and drive quality activities with attention to Software Supplier Quality, Risk Management, Software deliverables (testability) and overall compliancy standards for the Higher Education Industry, e.g., HECVAT and VPAT.
• Identify, prioritize, and help implement controls and documentation to comply with IT audit requirements. Currently done by Deloitte based upon a standard framework.
• (Help) execute monthly controls and, if needed, initiate mitigation actions and drive improvement across the department.

How does your team look like?

The Product Engineering department consists of 35 people. You will join an existing team of four members. – two Software Engineers, and two Dev-ops Engineers. Together you work to support the product development teams, improve, and maintain our testing, and the CI/CD process. Your responsibilities range from working on quality initiatives and offering top notch support. You work on a huge variety of topics and projects.

You report to our Software Development Manager, Stefan. He started as a developer at Studyportals and knows his way around the systems. His main responsibility is to make sure you can do your work in the best possible way, drive technical innovation, and make sure you can be the best version of yourself.

What are your responsibilities and tasks?

• Create a quality assurance and continuous improvement strategy for our software development processes. You will do this together with Engineering Leadership.
• Lead the identification, prioritization, and management of Quality Risks within the department. You are experienced with CAPA and supporting methodologies.
• Manage and maintain our digital and physical device testing lab.
• Methodical and result oriented at design of overall quality processes and support of root cause analysis, especially in complex software development. You will review, and help improve, manual and automated test solutions and processes.

Requirements

• At least 5+ years of experience in a Quality Management role, in a software development environment. You have experience writing automated tests, by using different testing methods, and have cloud experience.
• Pro-active and pragmatic. You need to identify and initiate many quality improvements, and you need to help others implement them step by step, bit by bit. No huge plans, but you will make sure things get done.
• Structured, methodical, analytical, precise, social, open to other cultures, and you want to make the world a better place.
• You like to document processes that comply with proper guidelines for internal knowledge sharing.
• Experienced in doing IT audits controls and quality assurance.
